Can I apply by mail or email?Please
apply online. The application should take no more than 20 minutes.
What should my online application contain?Send your CV and a covering letter, attaching any diplomas, certificates or testimonials.
Are there any restrictions concerning the attachments to the online application?You can upload up to five attachments, one after the other, and up to 1 MB of data.
What can I do if there is currently no relevant vacancy?If you can't find exactly what you’re looking for, please
register on our Job Center to receive details of new opportunities in Germany that match your interest and profile as they arise. Registering should take no more than 20 minutes.
Can I send an unsolicited application?We accept unsolicited applications for working students in Darmstadt and Gernsheim. For all other jobs, please apply directly to posted positions.
How many months before the start of the employment do I need to apply?To be considered for a role in Germany, you should apply to us at least four to six months before your employment is due to start.
I'm interested in several roles or locations. Is one application enough?Our
Job Center allows you to apply for several roles at the same time. You need to complete the relevant online application form only once, or simply add further details specific to the roles and include any attachments.
Once I’ve submitted my application, how long does it take before I hear from you?As soon as we get your application, we’ll send you an automatic email confirming receipt. Timeframes vary by location but usually you’ll hear within four weeks whether or not we’d like to invite you for interview.
What is the typical application process?We assess your application against competencies and role criteria. If we’d like to invite you for interview, we will contact you with interview details. You’ll have first interviews and then possibly a second interview. For some vacancies (e.g. the trainee programs or other entry-level positions) we may replace the first and second interviews with an Assessment Center. For more information, please click

What are the main criteria in the selection process?Good qualifications, relevant professional experience (based on the seniority of the role) and foreign language skills as well as at extra-curricular activities. You’ll also need to have a specific blend of personal competencies and share our values. For more information, please click

What happens to my personal information?We store personal information included in your application on our database and keep it in confidence for at least a year. It’s accessible only to those Merck Group employees responsible for recruitment. You may update or ask us to remove all your personal information from our database at any time by updating your profile online.
